The River

The River

The Legendary Salmon River

Perfect for newcomers and experienced rafters alike, the Salmon River is the longest stretch of free flowing water in the lower 48 states. It drifts past miles of breathtaking mountains and craggy cliffs with world-famous roller coaster rapids. It offers some of the best rafting in Idaho—and some of its best white sand beaches. The Salmon is steeped in history too, and is home to Native American pictographs, old Chinese miner cabins and much more. Lewis and Clark named it the “River of no Return” because of its untamed waters and unforgettable beauty.
